SpeakIn celebrated Asia’s Top HR Leaders 2024 in Singapore.
The future of work is rapidly evolving & SpeakIn, Asia’s largest digital learning platform is here to lead this change from the front. As an initiative on this front, we bring to you the launch of the thirteenth edition of SpeakIn Asia Dialogues, “Asia’s Top HR Leaders – Celebration of Excellence in Speech and Thought Leadership,” held in Singapore. As an aim to make a future that is inclusive for all, the series features progressive discussions on issues important for Asian businesses, governments, media and academia.
Human Resources as a practice is the backbone of any organisation and often appreciation goes neglected on this front. It ensures seamless integration of different functions at a macro level and also keeps check of the employees at a micro level, reflecting the dependency on the function for the smooth functioning of the organisation. Similar to earlier editions, “Asia’s Top HR Leaders” was an opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations, gain valuable insights, and celebrate the transformative impact of HR leadership. However, it had an element of recognition and appreciation involved for the leaders and companies who have made excellent efforts and innovation in the field of human resources.
The event honoured the exemplary leadership and outstanding commitment of HR Professionals who have made significant contributions to learning and organizational development, employee satisfaction and engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion, talent management, and employee value proposition. We put the spotlight on influential leaders who have championed positive change in their organizations and communities. Their insights and contributions have not only advanced HR practices but also shaped a more people-centric future for all.
“As the ways of working evolves rapidly and the HR function is the first responder for any unprecedented challenges, it is imperative that we appreciate their efforts,” said Deepshikha Kumar, Founder of SpeakIn. The event saw the gathering of about 50 leaders from all across APAC only to celebrate the importance of people in the organisation. The Guest of Honour for the event, Ng Tian Chong, CEO of Singtel, emphasized that the leaders being awarded today have time and again put the “human” in “human resources”. He said, It’s not been easy being a HR leader, especially in recent years with the pandemic and trends like the Great Resignation and Quiet Quitting, prompting a shift in workplace behaviours and expectations. In an organisation like Singtel, with a multigenerational and large workforce spread across the globe, we’re acutely aware of the need to refine our people management strategies to address these changes and still be able to achieve our organisational goals and purpose. Our HR leaders are central to helping our employees seamlessly navigate these developments.
The awardees included people leaders from Grab, Gojek, OCBC, Snapchat, Intrepid Group Asia, SIG Group, PT Bina Karya Prima, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Affin Bank Group, Tiket.com, Radisson Hotels, S&R Membership Shopping, ST Engineering, Mastercard, Property Guru, Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad, AirAsia, Aboitiz Power Corporation, ComfortDelGro, Tokopedia, Kantar, McCann Worldgroup, FVG Holding, SM Development Corporations, SwissRe, IHH Healthcare, Prudential, NICE, Standard Chartered Bank, PT Bank KEB Hana Indonesia, Bukalapak, United Overseas Bank and PT Vale Indonesia Tbk.
