Having completed my engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering in 1994, I got myself into the Materials function with a prime responsibility of localizing imported components of the car in India. There is a unique and rare aspect in the beginning of my career when I worked for Daewoo Motors and New Holland,i.e., I joined these companies when they were just getting established for the first time in India. This gave me a chance to not only understand and master the negotiation skills for all the categories in metals and non-metals but also to keenly observe how an assembly line is built step by step from scratch. This was certainly high point of my career to see the state-of-the-art assembly lines and inhouse manufacturing facility constructed in front of me when I was one of the elite early joiner in the team and it instlled a great sense of pride.
My professional career can be spilt into a nicely balanced 12+ years in automotive manufacturing industries that helped me to understand manufacturing operations for various child parts and assemblies that go in an automobile and then the last 12+ years where I entered into the field of consulting to guide the manufacturing organizations on how to purchase efficiently thereby savings huge amount of money. My consulting stints with Ariba, Accenture and now Genpact helped me to a) Gain expertize in my presentation and communication skills at CXO level, b) Drive change management c) Lead large teams as a people manager and d) Use technology to automate and/or improve on the process efficiency.

I have led teams of 200+ people and managed global clients to drive change through massive and complex transformation initiatives involving change in their process and technology platforms.
