He has excelled as a high achiever in each rank and rose to the second senior most rank of Indian Army as a Lieutenant General, with rich experience in Command, staff and instructional appointments. He has been a key note speaker at several international and national seminars. Having done all prestigious courses of Indian Army including Staff College, Higher Command and National Defence College, he has tenanted prestigious appointments of Brigadier General Staff, General Officer Commanding of an Armoured Division and an Elite Strike Corps spread over eight states and 25 stations. He has operational experience in planning, strategy formulation operational coordination and conduct of counter insurgency operations at apex level. As an Instructor imparted training and management skills at middle and senior level leadership besides being invited as Guest lecturer at various prestigious institutions. As an additional Director General Perspective Planning of Indian Army, he was responsible for military strategy, operational planning and transformation of IA with a future perspective. He has been instrumental in several key studies and doctrine to include IA doctrine, IA Operational Philosophy, Western Front Strategy, Future Capability building long term plans, Technology perspective of 15 years and more, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance capability building of IA, Rightsizing and rebalancing of Army, International relations with accent on national security perspective, Joint Warfare Studies and Operational Art in contemporary warfare. An Armoured Corps Officer with equipment expertise rose to be the Director General Mechanised Forces for over two years, wherein brought about transformation and modernization of Indian Mechanised Forces with special impetus to Make In India schemes. He has worked closely at Apex Level with Govt of India MoD in formulation of long-term perspective plans, policy reviews and production target fixation, and all facets of defence procurement.
