Cheah Liek Hou (born 8 March 1988) is a celebrated Malaysian para-badminton player, recognized for his remarkable achievements and resilience. Born with Erb's palsy, which affects the strength and stability of his right hand, he began playing badminton at age nine and soon competed at higher levels, joining the able-bodied squad by twelve. His dedication and skill propelled him to become a two-time Paralympic gold medalist and a 14-time World champion in SU5 singles and doubles events, marking a historic win at the 2020 and 2024 Summer Paralympics as the first Malaysian to medal in para-badminton. Cheah’s inspiring journey is further immortalized in the 2024 film "Gold," directed by Adrian Teh, which highlights his extraordinary path to success.
