Assessment Centres accredited under Harrison Assessment, Facet 5, Insights, amongst others for leadership succession planning, talent management, leadership development, etc. A Certified Practicing Management Consultant accredited by the Insitute of Management Consultants, Enterprise-Singapore, Dr Alvin has consulted with JTC, MINDEF, PA and SNEF. As Co-Founder of Linde University Campus Asia-pacific (LUCA) and Wisdom Academy, Dr Alvin focussed his seminar topics on "Leading Government Services using Human Capital solutions" and presented papers on "How to Transform Performance through Talent Development" which consolidates 22 essential global leadership competencies and practices that foster and drive the People Agenda for Business Growth and Competitive Strategy. Dr Alvin has also spoken at the Global Learning Summit held in Singapore on "Fostering Innovation Leadership", "Driving Performance Excellence" at the Human Resource Congress in the Philippines, Baguo City, "MindPower Coaching to enhance Team Performance" in the MCs and the Government Agencies at the Human Resource Educator's Association Network in Shanghai, China and "Mitigating Human Capital Risk through Instilling a Performance and Competency Culture" for the Governance, Risk and Compliance Council in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dr Alvin holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Education (HRD) from the University of Hull, Institute for Adult Learning, UK in 2002 and a Master of Social Science degree in Training and Human Resource Management from the University of Leicester, Centre for Labor Market Studies in 1995. His first degree in Economics was awarded with 2nd Class Honours from the London School of Economics & Political Science, UK London University in 1992 and received a postgraduate diploma in Law from the National University of Singapore in 1999
He has been honoured for his significant contributions to industry in senior leadership capacities, leading and managing the consultancy, coaching, and corporate training Practices as well as Regional Head / Director roles in Learning & Development, Talent Management and Organisational Development over the last 4 decades.
The Honorary Doctor of Leadership and Management was awarded to him by the London Business School and Fellowship of the African Institute of Public Administration, the distinguished Lee Kuan Yew Transformational Leadership Medal and Plaque commemorating his work on public healthcare during the Covid-19 pandemic through projects with the Ministry of Health.
