Hari T.N popularly known as the start-up HR guy, the expert is the head of HR at Big Basket. Before BigBasket, he had worked with multiple start-ups/scale-ups like Virtusa, Amba Research, and Taxi4Sure and has been through four successful exits in various industries.
After graduating from IIT Madras and IIM Calcutta, he spent close to fifteen years in Tata Steel. He worked in various functions, starting from procurement to corporate planning to design. Hari took a non-conventional point of view to HR owing to his analytics background. His startup’s journey began with Daksh in 2002, where he was pivotal in growing the employee count, which IBM later acquired.
Also a successful author, Hari has co-authored three books — Back to Basics in Management - A critique of the fabled management mantras; Cut the crap and jargon: Learnings from the start-up trenches, and Cutting the Gordian Knot: India’s quest for Prosperity.
