Erdem Gorgun works as a Professor at the Istanbul Technical University, Environmental Engineering Department, and has around 30 years of experience in a wide variety of environment-related fields including engineering works, scientific researches, research and development, teaching and top-level management.

His key areas of focus include Integrated River Basin Management, Water and Wastewater Management, Wastewater Treatment Plant Design and Operation, Industrial Pollution Control, Environmental Due Diligence, Solid Waste Management.

Erdem founded io Environmental Solutions R&D Company and has worked as an expert and director of many projects in this company that has been operating in the environmental impacts of industries and energy investments, water resources and river basin management, wastewater management, air quality management and solid and hazardous waste management. The expert completed B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies at Environmental Engineering Department, Istanbul Technical University.
