An Economics Honours and Law graduate and an Odissi dancer, Shivani has anchored various television genres like Travel (Namaste India), Beauty, Fashion & Fitness (Khoobsurat), Bollywood (Taj Mahal Takita Dhin), Culture (Kala Parikrama), Computers (Boot It), Breakfast Shows (Morning Zee), Talk Shows (Zindagi), Proceedings of Parliament (Sansadnama). Shivani is an active compere and is actively working for many social causes, positive body image being one of them. She also compered the launch of the former Prime Minister's poetry album, Samvedna. She has acted in a number of television serials like Mumkin, Sigma, Batooni, Kashmakash, a telefilm called Hame Jahan Pyar Mile and Yash Chopra's film ,"Dil To Pagal Hai".  Shivani was engaged as a Consultant by the Hon’ble Speaker to help launch Lok Sabha TV channel. Shivani was the winner of Miss India World Wide title in 1992.
