Dr Nihar Amoncar completed his PhD in Business from University of South Wales with full scholarship and received an MBA degree from University of South Wales with Merit award. His doctoral thesis focussed on Socio-cultural contexts of traditional Indian business communities and their influence on Entrepreneurial Behavioural logics and strategic planning. He is also a Fellow of Higher Education Academy (UK).

Prior to joining IMT, Dr Nihar was associated with University of Derby as Director of MBA programs and Senior Lecturer in Strategic Management. He started his academic career as Program leader of MBA Global programs at University of South Wales. He won the University Best Lecturer Award and Business School Best Lecturer Award at University of South Wales in 2019, he also delivered a TedX talk on the Role of Social Media in Politics in 2019.

He Co-founded an educational enterprise in 2011 to enable higher education aspirants in Goa gain access to quality yet affordable training for national and global entrance examinations. Dr Nihar has won Best Paper Awards at international conferences for his research in the area of Entrepreneurship and Strategy and has published several articles in ABS and ABDC ranked journals. His consultancy assignments have included working with International Centre of Goa, Goa Co-op Marketing and Supply Federation ltd, Welsh Automotive Forum (UK) and Seren Group (UK). He also led two successful student centric consultancy projects via USW Business clinic working with CATNIC, UK (a Tata Steel enterprise).
