He is an accomplished professional in the Internet & Media space with earlier roles as the India VP & Managing Director of Yahoo and prior to that CEO of Forbes India. He also has his own edtech startup called edpurple, which is currently inactive because of his current full time commitments to Quora.

Gurmit has worked in leadership roles with Consumer Product organisations like Marico and with Internet companies like Quora and Yahoo. He has entrepreneurial experience doing his own edtech startup as well as helping set up the Quora business in India.
