Dr. Shashikant Sharma is a physician, hospital administrator, and healthcare AI strategist based in Pune, with more than twenty years in public-sector healthcare. He was onsite project consultant for commissioning a 1,899-bed greenfield hospital in Pune, moving a fully functioning hospital to its new campus without interrupting care. He has headed operations, quality, and procurement for an 800-bed tertiary hospital, planned a 1,000-bed COVID hospital, led a 600-bed greenfield project, and ran a UN health facility in DR Congo. An NQAS National Assessor and former Associate Professor of Hospital Administration, he co-authored Planning & Designing Health Care Facilities in Developing Countries (CRC Press, 2024) and the forthcoming Artificial Intelligence in Indian Health Care. He mentors healthcare AI startups with IndiaAI, hosts the podcast Let's Break In, and is a TEDx speaker. He holds an MD in Hospital & Health Care Administration and trained in AI product management at BITS Pilani.
