Captain Akhilesh Saxena, a Kargil war veteran, led three crucial and offensive attacks; Tololing, Hump and Three Pimples in Kargil war. He is now Vice President with Tata Communications. As a motivational speaker, he has delivered keynote sessions on leadership and inspired various top multinational companies like CII, SAP India, Tata Motors, Kirloskar, Indian oil, L&T, SKF, JP Morgan, Mahindra Finance and many others. He is a regular speaker on media channels like Times Now, Zee, NDTV, Rajya Sabha, India TV, National DD. He is being recognised during Republic Day Parade on Rajpath and featured on the Army tableau for outstanding contribution to Nation in Kargil War and inspiring society.

This hardcore Army officer did his schooling from Sainik School Ghorakhal. He is an alumnus of National Defence Academy (NDA), Pune and commissioned in Indian Army from Indian Military Academy (IMA) in 1995. At 4 years of service, this young captain got posted at the battlefield of Kargil just weeks after his marriage. 

During the Kargil War, he led the team of commandos to capture peaks with 2 Rajputana Rifles and 18 Grenadiers. As a forward observation officer, he directed 90 Bofors guns to bring devastating fire on the enemy to ensure the victory of Indian troops. During his third operation, he got injured with enemy bullets but continued the mission until his team emerged victoriously. He had to undergo a series of medical procedures due to bullet injuries and long treatment but still left with disabilities. This young battle-toughened soldier moved out of Army to join a full-time MBA course at the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) and passed out with a gold medal. Later went to Michigan University for the executive leadership program.

He has 16 years of senior management experience in the companies like Wipro, Bharti Airtel and Tata Group. Captain Akhilesh Saxena has been successfully using the experience of the Kargil War and Army to inspire and guide his team. As he finds leadership-lessons learnt on the battlefield are fully relevant to the corporate world. He is being awarded many times for his leadership skills. 

As he has suffered the consequences and wounds of the Kargil war, understand the pain and sacrifices which Indian soldiers go through during their lives. India has left with only a few officers who have taken part in the real action of the Kargil war and were fortunate enough to return alive. He takes his sessions as a tribute to our Indian soldiers.
