With 39 years of experience covering the Asia Pacific region, Daniel has graduated from his technical roots as a Software Engineer after graduating from University of Guelph in Canada, and learning from ground up to hone his skills in Marketing, Sales and People Management. His mantra ‘Learn, Contribute and Be Happy Doing Them’ has been his guiding principle in delivering quality work with passion. An avid marketer who transformed himself through leadership of IBM’s e-business and OnDemand campaigns, Red Hat’s Open Source philosophy, Cloudera’s Collected Data foundation to currently Connected Data with Neo4j, Daniel has seen the whole Marketing journey. As quoted by IDC CMO Advisory as saying “Marketing is a Science delivered as an Art’, Daniel has seen good following in social media of 20,000 and has been named the Top Social Seller by LinkedIn.

A frequent speaker, panelist, moderator in regional events like SCCCI SMEICC, BIGIT, TechTarget Marketing Summit and also mentoring sessions in Sunway University Malaysia, Penang Institute’s ‘Beyond National Education’ seminar, Daniel is no stranger to the audiences in Asia Pacific. WIth his wide and vast experience and the depth of knowhow in many subjects, Daniel’s focus on integration of business processes and value proposition has won him numerous accolades with colleagues, peers and other leaders in the market. This experience also allowed him to develop many frameworks and methodologies that allow marketers who have worked with him to replicate and scale their own organisations.

His passion for marketing does not only stop at the theory stage. He believes in operationalising the frameworks through the lens of ‘Humanising Marketing’ where it starts with WHY and is relevant to humans - beyond technology, and focuses on delivering value rather than implementing checklists. Daniel believes that in order to put what is on paper into execution, skills, knowhow and collaboration is key. He therefore spends quality time in mentoring and nurturing new marketers to ensure that the true meaning of marketing is preserved and progressed. As Marketing is to most an art of storytelling, his language capability in English, Mandarin, Malay and dialects like Cantonese, Hakka, Fujian, Teochew and Hanianese, Daniel is a natural conversationalist with anyone.
